Wednesday evening – calm before storm

It was a quiet Wednesday evening…

Too quiet.
The servant had gone to bed early, muttering things like “tired” and “brain full of boxes.”
But Benno wasn’t done.
From the top of the wardrobe, he stared down at the hoomin in bed like a dramatic owl.

Eyes glowing. Tail flicking. Brain whirring.

Benno: “He still hasn’t told me which window gets sunset light.”
Servant: [from under blanket] “Benno… please. Sleep.”
Benno: “Not until I see the floor plan again.”

Suddenly, he heard it.

The unmistakable sound of Lohe crunching snacks in the dark.
Benno launched down from the wardrobe with a soft thud and ran to the food bowl like he hadn’t eaten in days.
Lohe: [mouth full] “You still up?”
Benno: “Couldn’t sleep. Needed answers.”
Lohe: “I get it. I keep imagining the new hallway. I think it echoes. Perfect for night zooms.”
The two munched in silence for a bit, occasionally side-eyeing the hallway like they were planning something.
Then, without a word, they locked eyes.

It was time.

Moderate Zoomies activated.
No full-speed chaos — they were too tired for that.
But enough movement to make their point:
The excitement is real. The energy is building.
Benno crab-walked across the rug.
Lohe did one impressive couch leap followed by a flop.
At one point, someone knocked over a sock with great purpose.
Benno: [panting slightly] “Okay… I’m satisfied. For now.”

Lohe: “Tomorrow we ask about cupboard access.”

They returned to their sleep stations — Lohe on the pillow that isn’t his, Benno in the laundry that definitely isn’t clean.
Wednesday evening ends with full bellies, mild zoomies, and dreams of unexplored sunbeams.
The new apartment awaits.
But tonight, they rest.

Kinda.

Thursdays Thunder Zoomies

Thursday 3.4.2025

05:00am – sharp

The servant opened one eye.
Benno was already there.
Sitting squarely on his chest.
Eyes wide. Tail flicking. Brain at maximum question mode.
Benno:
“Will the new apartment have a secret drawer just for treats?”
“Is the balcony squirrel-rated?”
“What if we get lost and end up in the neighbor’s apartment? What if they have cooler furniture?”
“Can we rename the living room to The Zoomie Arena?”
“Oh! Will the fridge still make that spooky noise at night or do we have to find a new haunted appliance?”
The servant blinked.
Patted Benno gently.
Whispered: “Yes. Maybe. Probably not. No. And… we’ll see.”
Then tried to go back to sleep for approximately 7 more minutes.
Meanwhile, Lohe wandered in casually like he hadn’t just been meowing at the balcony door for 15 minutes.
Lohe: “Breakfast happening soon or are we fasting now?”
Eventually, the servant caved.
Sleep was abandoned.
Breakfast was served.
Harmony was briefly restored.
And then it began.
The Thursday Thunder Zoomies™.
Lohe launched off the window ledge like he’d been catapulted.
Benno chased a ghost, a dust particle, and possibly his own thoughts.
There were hallway sprints, couch rebounds, and one surprisingly graceful mid-air twist that ended in a laundry pile.
Servant: [sipping coffee, eyes barely open] “I am but a humble tenant in their empire.”
Benno: “We accept your tribute.”
Lohe: “Now open a box so I can sit in it.”
Thursday morning: chaos delivered, breakfast conquered, questions mostly unanswered.

All is well. For now.
