Welcome to ThePurrDuo

Our Story Begins

Hello there, fellow feline fans and curious creatures of the internet!

We’re thrilled to welcome you to ThePurrDuo, a blog dedicated to the daily antics, deep thoughts, and dramatic zoomies of Lohe & Benno — two tuxedo brothers with a flair for chaos, comedy, and quiet cuddle ambushes.

Their story started near the Estonian-Latvian border, where they spent almost two years in a shelter, waiting for a home. After the servant’s former cat, Basil, passed away, fate (or the Cat Distribution System™) led him to these two mischief-makers. One long car ride later, Lohe and Benno began their new chapter — and haven’t looked back since (except when suspicious noises come from the hallway).

While they’re still a little unsure about being touched, they grow bolder and closer every day — following their hoomin, asking for playtime, and slowly claiming each corner of the apartment (and the servant’s heart).

This blog is still new and a bit empty — like a fresh cardboard box waiting to be claimed — but the hoomin promises to fill it with updates, stories, pictures, and maybe even a few secrets whispered by the spirit of Basil himself.

So, whether you’re here for laughs, fluff, toe-bite tales, or just a peek into the life of two rescued legends…
Welcome to the madness.
We’re glad you’re here.

It’s finally Friday

The day of The Keys.

A big day. A sacred day. A sleepless day.
The servant didn’t sleep well.
Tossed. Turned. Mumbled apartment things like, “balcony netting… boxes… vet… help.”
But worry not. The cats noticed.
And like the loving chaos gremlins they are,
they provided comfort in the only way they know how:
– 01:00 AM: Zoomies across the bed. Lohe did a bonus nose boop mid-sprint.
– 02:34 AM: Benno performed the Ancient Midnight Furniture Leap™ and landed directly on the laundry basket.
– 04:32 AM: Synchronised hallway thunder zoomies. Loud. Fast. No survivors.
Benno: “He looked restless. We helped.”
Lohe: “We provided kinetic emotional support.”
By the time the servant got up, his hair was sideways and his brain was barely booting.
But he was smiling — because today…
he gets the keys.
Of course, the boys had questions. Still. Again.
So many.
Benno: “Will there be shelves we can knock things off?”
Lohe: “Do the neighbors have birds?”
Benno: “Is the toilet in the new place as dramatic as this one?”
Lohe: “Where will you cry when you think about vacuuming? We need to plan our exits.”
The servant, coffee in hand, just nodded slowly.
“Guys… I don’t even know where the light switches are yet.”
He left for work.
And as he walked outside, he paused.
Looked up.
And there it was:
FRIDAY ZOOMIES.
Cat shadows flying across windows.
Planters mysteriously missing from balconies.
Paw prints in places paws shouldn’t be.
A distant crash, followed by triumphant meowing.
The Friday Energy was real.
It had begun.
Today: keys.
Tomorrow: planning.
Soon: a new kingdom.
But first… the Zoomies.

Wednesday evening – calm before storm

It was a quiet Wednesday evening…

Too quiet.
The servant had gone to bed early, muttering things like “tired” and “brain full of boxes.”
But Benno wasn’t done.
From the top of the wardrobe, he stared down at the hoomin in bed like a dramatic owl.

Eyes glowing. Tail flicking. Brain whirring.

Benno: “He still hasn’t told me which window gets sunset light.”
Servant: [from under blanket] “Benno… please. Sleep.”
Benno: “Not until I see the floor plan again.”

Suddenly, he heard it.

The unmistakable sound of Lohe crunching snacks in the dark.
Benno launched down from the wardrobe with a soft thud and ran to the food bowl like he hadn’t eaten in days.
Lohe: [mouth full] “You still up?”
Benno: “Couldn’t sleep. Needed answers.”
Lohe: “I get it. I keep imagining the new hallway. I think it echoes. Perfect for night zooms.”
The two munched in silence for a bit, occasionally side-eyeing the hallway like they were planning something.
Then, without a word, they locked eyes.

It was time.

Moderate Zoomies activated.
No full-speed chaos — they were too tired for that.
But enough movement to make their point:
The excitement is real. The energy is building.
Benno crab-walked across the rug.
Lohe did one impressive couch leap followed by a flop.
At one point, someone knocked over a sock with great purpose.
Benno: [panting slightly] “Okay… I’m satisfied. For now.”

Lohe: “Tomorrow we ask about cupboard access.”

They returned to their sleep stations — Lohe on the pillow that isn’t his, Benno in the laundry that definitely isn’t clean.
Wednesday evening ends with full bellies, mild zoomies, and dreams of unexplored sunbeams.
The new apartment awaits.
But tonight, they rest.

Kinda.
